We’re happy to welcome our new Chief of Operations, Sahar Azghandi-Daoutis. With the continued growth of our small startup, our first C-Level hire sets our focus to scale and will allow us to manage the increasing incoming demand for our products and services. Having had great track record in the design business, Sahar will be in charge of growing/structuring operations and business development as well as establishing the recently announced “Limbic Active”. This branch of FWB will focus on sports and gamification in the advertising world to create the sport events and activation campaigns of tomorrow.

As the Co-Founder and CEO of SMAL and her sister companies SMAL Innovation and SMAL Code, Sahar Azghandi-Daoutis exercises her skill set as a seasoned leader with more than 15 years of design and leading experience. She provides guidance in a multitude of business segments with her deep understanding and expertise, when it comes to specific business needs of clients. From expanding the SMAL offices in Munich, San Francisco and Shenzhen as well as scouting of talented people, to strategizing futures of startup clients, Sahar takes pleasure in selling and celebrating the often under-rated business advantage that design represents. A born networker, she stimulates synergies between the right people.
Sahar Azghandi-Daoutis was born and raised in beautiful Munich, coming from a refugee family from Iran. Sahar studied Electrical Engineering and information technology and received her double master in International Business Administration and Management and Mathematics. She worked for corporates like Infineon Technologies, HypoVereinsbank; before she joined a design agency as the Executive Managing Director, where she build up the User Interface/User Experience and Development team.
In 2011 Sahar founded Ziba’s European branch Ziba Munich GmbH, which was renamed to SMAL GmbH on March 1st 2016.
Sahar has thrivingly worked with clients such as Vodafone, Wacom, P&G, Grundig, WMF and Leica reaping Awards from iF, Red Dot Best of the best Award, IDSA Gold, the Good Design Award to name a few. But her heart was always with the startups she helped to grow, beside being co-founder of startups like “Ulyss Travel“.
After having suffered of several gastric ulcers that put her life in danger almost four years ago, she decided to completely change her life and put sports as one of her main priorities. “With sport being the key element that saved my life, I chose to get hands on to make a change for others also. Having seen the Company evolve from day one as my client, and understanding the true importance of its mission for Society, this was a very personal decision for me – as a business woman and as a mother of two”, Sahar said.
